HOW ARCHITECTS THOUGHT THROUGH THE VIEW ON THE HEADQUATERS FROM THE MOSCOW-CITY

Designers from the ODA, the American company, decided to coat the rooftop with grey and blue rock of natural, not accurate forms, which would reflect sunset rays and flicker pleasantly. This effect is required to highlight the building on the panoramic view of the city: architects wanted the Headquarters to be seen from the Moscow-City windows.

WHAT THE ROOFTOP IS OPEN FOR

The Headquarters is not the first project by Glavstroy with an open rooftop: in the Beregovoy, for example, there are private and public terraces, in the KAMPUS some rooftops are turned into relaxation areas too. That’s because we know from personal experience that this space can be great for social life and leisure: some members of our team lived in New York and in the houses with open rooftops where neighbors gathered. As for the Headquarters, the rooftop and the square in the center will become spaces for making new acquaintances and networking, making work more effective and pleasant.

WHAT THE BUILDING’S SILHOUETTE REMINDS OF

The project should become a drive for the development of the district, which previously consisted only of industrial zones. Thus, the semantic function was reflected in its architecture. The shape of the building reminds of a gate a new district, if you enter it from the center, or into the city, if you come from the suburbs. It should be noted that architects paid a lot of attention to the silhouette, and when we designed the Headquarters we thought about its three dimensions. About how people who will work there will perceive the building. About how to make an outline catchy for those who will pass the building on the Third Ring Road. And, lastly, about how to highlight the building on the panoramic view of the city if you look at it from the top of skyscrapers.
